WAXING

Waxing is the physical removal of hair by the root from the follicle. Altar uses two kinds of wax in-house: Cirepil blue hard wax and Nufree strip or soft wax. There is no form of waxing that is painless, but we do everything within our power to keep any discomfort at a minimum.

Continual waxing with help to breakdown the follicles' ability to create hair. Over a varied period of time (depending on the individual) this can help to greatly reduce or stop the growth of hair in treated areas. For more info on waxing please email info@altarwaxstudio.com

FOR BEST RESULTS:
We recommend waxing every 4-6 weeks for consistency.

Exfoliating your skin with a scrub or dry brush the night before or morning of your waxing service will improve your results.

The hair needs to be at least ¼ inch long to be waxed properly. Waxing works best when you do not shave between services.

Clients using Vitamin A based medications such as Retin-A, Differin Gel or Accutane should not wax. 

We recommend a tweezing to maintain the integrity of the skin. Always inform us of any changes in your medications.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • 24 hours for waxing lash lifting and tinting.

  • 48 hours for microblading.

  • Any missed or cancelled appointments within the policy guidelines will be charged full price. Recurring no shows or late cancelled appointments may result in restrictions on future bookings.
