NY Magazine “Best of NY”

”Whatever your brows’ affliction (overplucked, underplucked, there’s only one of them), Exhale’s new guru Di Medlock is poised to doctor it right up. After diagnosing the arches, Medlock uses a combination of trimming, tweezing, threading, and/or waxing to nurse brows back to health. She also prescribes eyebrow conditioner and a take-home plan in order to break bad plucking habits between visits. On the issue of tails, for instance, Medlock shows clients where the outer ends of their arches should stop (premature tails are apparently an epidemic).”

“Her brows are so thin, they look insane. Tell her, "I'm so happy big brows are back. Less maintenance, you know?" Then invite her to join your brow boot camp. "Overplucking is often an attempt to control things in life," says Di Medlock.”

Stylecaster “Amazing tricks to get fuller brows now”

“It’s important to see what your brows are capable of producing without outside assistance. We allow the brows to grow with no tweezing, waxing or threading for four weeks. This will show me how much natural growth is possible, trouble spots and the willpower of my guest.”

“Brow rules are like horoscopes— they can’t all work for everyone all of the time,” Medlock says. “The human face is too unique for that kind of simplication.” Instead, it’s important to keep certain soft rules and tricks in mind when it comes to choosing an eyebrow shape. Medlock notes that your different facial features will be accentuated by different brow shapes. “A thinner brow will highlight a dominant feature, whereas a thicker brow will draw attention away,” she says. A thick brow can reduce the look of a large nose, for example, while thinner brows could draw more attention to your eyes. Angled brows can make your features look sharper, while round eyes will emphasize rounder cheeks or lips.
